Section H: Prohibited Items and Offenses

1.0 General Instructions

1.1 Tier Classification

Tier 1 (Minor): Items that are disruptive to the environment but pose minimal safety risk.
Tier 2 (Moderate): Items that pose moderate safety risks or are inappropriate for the setting.
Tier 3 (Serious): Items that are dangerous, illegal, or pose a significant safety threat.

1.2 Compliance

Items listed in Tier 1 may result in warnings or temporary confiscation.
Items listed in Tier 2 may result in stricter actions such as parental notification, confiscation, or detention.
Items listed in Tier 3 will lead to immediate and serious disciplinary actions, including involvement of security personnel or legal authorities if necessary.

1.3 Exceptions

Certain items (e.g., tools, or medications) may be allowed if explicit prior approval is obtained from an authority figure (e.g., teacher, administrator).
All exceptions must be documented and verified.

1.4 Reporting

Any prohibited item discovered must be reported to the appropriate authority immediately.
Confiscated items will be returned to the owner or their guardian based on the severity of the tier.

1.5 Code of Conduct

The school has implemented a merit and demerit points system to encourage positive behaviour and accountability among students. Each student will begin with a total of 100 merit points at the start of the academic year.
Students who lose more than 100 merit points will face automatic expulsion from the school as decided by the Discipline Committee.
Merit points will be deducted for misconduct based on the following levels of offenses:
- Level 1 Offense: Mischief – Deduction of 5 points.
- Level 2 Offense: Minor misconduct – Deduction of 10 points.
- Level 3 Offense: Major misconduct – Deduction of 30 points.
- Serious Offenses: Referral to the Discipline Committee, which may consider deducting more than 100 points leading to expulsion.
Grading of Conduct:
- A: 80% and above
- B: 70% to 79%
- C: 60% to 69%
- D: 59% and below
Students in category D may face suspension, probation, or expulsion. Notices will be sent to the respective parents/guardians.
Correctional actions will be based on the table of disciplinary measures and actions in Section H-3.0.
The Principal reserves the right to make the final decision.

3.0 Tier of offence

Level 1 Offense

Level 2 Offense

Category	Description
Misconduct in Class	Major disruption of class and school events. Refuse to obey instructions/defiance/constant signs of rebelling. Rudeness and disrespect in speech or body language. Repeated incidences of harassment & verbal bullying. Persistently disturbing others in class, school bus, school compound. Forging of signature. Improper attire & hairstyle: after repeated warnings. Persistent failure to bring schoolbooks or required materials. Not turning in class work, homework, project work, etc., without a valid reason. Leaving school premises without consent; skipping of ECA, remedial &/or supplementary classes.
Misconduct in School	Late coming (6 or more times). Using bad language. Defying school prefects. Engage in romantic relationships while on school premises or during school hours.
Causing Harm to Others	Misusing of internet & electronic mail. Isolated acts of violence/fighting. Deliberate destruction of others’ work. Minor vandalism. Isolated incidents of fighting or minor physical harm. Theft or shoplifting from others.

Level 3 Offense

Category	Description
Misconduct in Class	Insubordination, disrespect for authority, willful disobedience to teachers. Open defiance and/or rudeness. Recalcitrant violation of the school dress code. Truancy.
Misconduct in School	Late-coming (3rd Yellow Letter in a semester or late more than 18 times in a semester, whichever comes first). Habitual vulgarity & coarse/abusive language including offensive hand signs. Possession of undesirable material & publication (such as pornography and banned materials). Smoking/Drugs/Alcohol abuse related offenses. Cheating in exams.
Causing Harm to Others	Harassment/Bullying via ICT & social media. Stealing/Shoplifting/Extortion of property belonging to others. Aggressive violent behavior causing deliberate physical injury & harm to others. Attack/Assault/Fighting/Rioting, with or without weapons. Vandalism/Writing graffiti on school/public building/property. Arson/Planting explosives or setting property on fire, whether attempted or actual. Gambling/Using money in games/Betting. Gangsterism/Being involved in gang assault/Threat. Harassment, whether attempted or actual. Possession of weapons, self-made or bought. Sexual misconduct. Inappropriate touching and contact.
