1.0 General Principles
1.1 Respect for School Property
- Students must respect all school property, including buildings, furniture, equipment, and resources.
- Any intentional or careless damage to school property will be treated as a violation of this code.
1.2 Accountability for Damage
- Students are responsible for the care of personal and school-issued items (e.g., books, uniforms, electronic devices).
- Any loss, damage, or misuse of property must be reported immediately to school authorities.
1.3 Shared Responsibility
- All students share the responsibility of keeping the school environment clean, safe, and organized for everyone’s use.
2.0 Use of School Facilities
2.1 Classroom Property
- Students must always keep classrooms clean and orderly.
- Desks, chairs, whiteboards, and teaching equipment should not be defaced, drawn on, or tampered with.
2.2 Library and Laboratories
- Library books, lab equipment, and resources must be handled carefully and returned on time.
- Students must not remove or damage materials without proper authorization.
2.3 Canteen and Common Spaces
- Students must queue in an orderly manner and clean up after themselves in shared spaces like the canteen.
- Littering or vandalism in these areas will not be tolerated.
2.4 Toilets and Washrooms
- Students must use washroom facilities responsibly and leave them clean for others.
- Any misuse, including vandalism or unhygienic behaviour, is strictly prohibited.
3.0 Personal and Others’ Property
3.1 Respect for Personal Belongings
- Students must respect the personal belongings of others and must not take, borrow, or tamper with items without permission.
- Stealing or intentional damage to another’s property will lead to severe disciplinary action.
3.2 Labelling Personal Items
- Students must label personal property such as books, bags, stationery, and electronic devices with their names.
- The school is not responsible for lost or misplaced personal items.
3.3 Lost and Found
- Any lost items found within the school premises must be handed over to the designated Lost and Found Office.
- Students must report lost property immediately to school authorities.
3.4 Prohibited Items
- Dangerous or inappropriate items, such as weapons, fireworks, sharp objects, and illicit substances, must not be brought to school.
4.0 Environmental Care and Sustainability
4.1 Maintaining Cleanliness
- Students must avoid littering and must use designated bins for waste disposal.
- Recycling and waste segregation practices must be followed wherever implemented.
4.2 Classroom and Campus Hygiene
- Students must ensure their classrooms and surrounding areas remain clean and free from graffiti or litter.
- Eating in classrooms or areas not designated for food is not allowed.
4.3 Energy and Resource Conservation
- Students must help conserve energy by turning off lights, fans, and electronic devices when not in use.
- Water must not be wasted, and taps should be closed after use.
5.0 Consequences for Violations
5.1 Accountability for Damage
- Students found responsible for intentional or careless damage to property will bear the cost of repairs or replacement.
- A formal warning and parental notification will accompany any significant violations.
5.2 Disciplinary Actions
- First Offense: Verbal warning, counselling, and participation in cleaning or repair activities.
- Repeated Offenses: Written warnings, parental involvement, and community service within the school.
- Severe Violations: Referral to the disciplinary committee, financial restitution, suspension, or other corrective actions.
5.3 Vandalism and Theft
- Vandalism of school property or theft of any items will result in immediate disciplinary action, which may include suspension or expulsion, depending on severity.
