1.0 General Principles
1.1 Appropriate Use of Devices
- Students are allowed to bring phones and laptops to school, but they must follow strict usage guidelines.
- Technology must be used responsibly and only for educational purposes as directed by teachers or school staff.
- Students are responsible for ensuring the proper handling and safety of their devices while on school premises.
- Any damage or loss caused by misuse will result in disciplinary action and possible financial restitution.
2.0 Mobile Phone Policy
2.1 Submission Upon Arrival
- All students must submit their phones into designated phone cases upon arrival at school.
- Phones must remain in the phone case during school hours unless explicitly permitted by school authorities.
2.2 Unauthorized Use
- Students found using their phones without permission during school hours will have their phones confiscated immediately.
- Confiscated phones will be returned at the end of the day or handed over to a parent/guardian for repeated offenses.
3.0 Laptop Policy
3.1 Use in Classroom
- Laptops can only be used in class when explicitly permitted by the teacher for educational activities.
- Unauthorized use of laptops, such as gaming, browsing non-educational content, or chatting during lessons, is prohibited.
3.2 Storage and Maintenance
- Laptops should be stored securely in student lockers or bags when not in use.
- Students must ensure their laptops are fully charged and functional before bringing them to school.
4.0 Consequences of Violations
4.1 Phone Confiscation
- Any student using a phone without permission will have it confiscated immediately.
- Repeated violations will require parental involvement and may result in further disciplinary actions.
4.2 Laptop Misuse
- Unauthorized use of laptops during class will result in confiscation for the remainder of the day.
- Continued misuse may lead to a ban on bringing laptops to school for the student involved.
4.3 Serious Offenses
- Using devices for cyberbullying, harassment, or accessing inappropriate content will result in severe disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.
5.0 Consequences of Violation
5.1 Mobile Phone Misuse
- First Offense: Phone confiscated for a week, parental notification.
- Second Offense: Phone confiscated for 2 weeks and returned only to parents/guardians.
- Third Offense: Phone confiscated for a month returned only to parents/guardians; written warning issued.
5.2 Laptop Misuse
- First Offense: Devices confiscated and returned to the student at the end of the school day; laptop use banned for one week.
- Second Offense: Devices confiscated and returned only to a parent/guardian; laptop use banned for one month.
- Third Offense: Formal disciplinary meeting with possible long-term restrictions or loss of device privileges.
5.3 Severe Violations (Cyberbullying, Inappropriate Content)
- Using devices for cyberbullying, harassment, or accessing inappropriate content will result in severe disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.
- Immediate referral to the disciplinary committee.
- Possible suspension or expulsion based on the gravity of the offense.
